Welcome to Crouch Valley!

"To anyone who hasn’t tried Scouting before, I’d say come on up and have a go! I think that most people don’t really know that Scouting is about activities, friendship and meeting people from other countries. I’ve been in the Movement since I was a Beaver and I still love it!"

Explorer Scouts is a ‘section’ of the Scout Association for young people aged 14yrs to 18yrs (however you may join from 13½ yrs). We take part in activity programmes which include indoor and outdoor activities, camps, expeditions, trips, social events, and a number of other activities.

We also provide the Chief Scouts Awards and also you can register to participate in the Duke of Edinburgh Award as well if you wish (Awards can be counted towards your Record of Achievement, CV, or other records of non-academic achievement and are viewed favourably by employers and colleges/universities).

We are a uniformed organisation and we therefore all own and wear a uniform for special occasions, most meetings however are in non-uniform.

Crouch Valley Scout District covers the area of Rochford District in South East Essex spanning the towns of Rochford, Ashingdon, Hawkwell, Hockley, Hullbridge and Rayleigh. It is staffed entirely by volunteer leaders and administrators who work in Scouting in their spare time.

If you're interested in getting involved, whether you are a young person, or just want to volunteer some of your time - we'd love to hear from you. Fill out our enquiry form on the right, and we'll get back to you with more information.
Role Vacancies

We're constantly on the lookout for new adult volunteers, so if you have some time to spare, give us a shout!

We currently have no vacancies.

If there aren't any vacancies listed above, or if none of them are for you, fill out the below form and we'll see if we can find something to suit you!
